October is declared as Filipino American History Month (FAHM, also known as PAHM, or Pilipino American History Month) by the Filipino American National Historical Society (FANHS). In honor of this month, Samahang Pilipino invites you to "[OUR]story", an exhibit that rediscovers and celebrates the legacy of Pilipino Americans at UCLA. The exhibit includes materials from the Samahang Pilipino archives located at the University Archives in the Young Research Library. "[OUR]story" also displays select photographs featuring Filipino individuals connected to UCLA from " I Am Today's Filipino", a collection of photography by Celina Taganas-Duffy and video by Ray Carbullido.

Join us at our opening reception on Tuesday, October 23, 2007, from 6-8pm in Kerckhoff Art Gallery at UCLA. View, mingle, enjoy light refreshments, and meet our guest speaker, Eloisa Borah!

On Friday, October 26, 2007 at 5pm, we will be screening the video interviews by Ray Carbullido that accompany the photographs of "I Am Today's Filipino."
