Count Me In! Campaign is Successful

November 20, 2007

Thanks to the endless hard work of many students from UC campuses far and wide and supports just like you...

DISAGGREGATION will be implemented for the 2008 academic year!

"Next year's undergraduate application will include separate categories for these Asian American groups: Chinese (except Taiwanese), Taiwanese, East Indian, Pakistani, Japanese, Korean, Filipino, Vietnamese, Hmong, Thai, Cambodian, Laotian, Bangladeshi, Indonesian, Malaysian, Sri Lankan, and Other Asian. Additionally, Pacific Islander categories will include Native Hawaiian, Guamanian/Chamorro, Samoan, Tongan, Fijian, and Other Pacific Islander. UC will also be reporting Pacific Islanders separately from Asian Americans."

Endless thanks to everyone who has supported the "COUNT ME IN!" campaign! Without your support, this would have not been possible! Students will continue to make efforts towards ensuring that these community needs will be further met!

Please contact anyone on Samahang Board or Asian Pacific Coalition Staff for the official press release sent out by the Asian Pacific Coalition.

Thank you again to all of those of you who helped volunteer or sign a postcard to make this happen!
