Week 3 General Meeting: The Campaign for Pilipino Studies

April 16, 2008

What is culturally relevant education? What does it mean to you?

Samahang Pilipino will be introducing the Campaign for Pilipino Studies (CPS) at this Friday's General Meeting. Be prepared for an exciting time!

CPS is the struggle to secure culturally relevant curriculum in the education system. Here at UCLA, we want to secure a specialization in Filipino studies within the Asian-American Studies Department. The struggle to address Filipino studies is not merely a Samahang movement but a Pilipino movement which has been going on for decades. See what representatives from UCI and UCR have to say, as they too are in the very same effort to widen Filipino-American education. We need your support! We are making history!
