Justice for Filipino American Veterans (JFAV)
Almost 500,000 Filipinos served under the direct command of the United States. They fought side by side with Americans with Roosevelt's promise they would become U.S. citizens and have the same benefits all U.S. veterans are given.
After the war, the Filipino vets were betrayed and denied the full benefits and U.S. citizenship that they deserved. This year, the Filipino Veterans Equity Campaign is gearing up for the final stage to win equal status and benefits for the Filipino WWII veterans. Samahang Pilipino will continue our solidarity with the Filipino Veterans by participating in the Veterans Day march and national days of action until justice is obtained.
